Naseeb Ke Paren, Kya Karen Kya Na Karen

An interactive board game on rights

Destiny. Fate. Luck. Chance.

These four words largely govern people’s beliefs, impacting the way they think and act. Consequently, it also defines the perspective with which a family, community or group views its own development.

Naseeb Ke Paren… an interactive board game provokes a re-think on the belief that people’s lives are governed by fate, luck, chance, destiny… The game prods the players to challenge their own perceptions; use their imagination, creativity and presence of mind. It is an opportunity for the players to gain new information, assess existing information & beliefs and create questions leading to correct information.

Drawing from the traditional game of snakes and ladders, Naseeb Ke Paren… takes off from the point where the player-participant is faced with the prospect of losing out due to ‘bad luck’. In the world of Naseeb Ke Paren… snakes are not threatening, infact they offer you an opportunity to save yourselves before they gulp you down! Ladders are inviting, but cannot be climbed easily! There are no winners and no losers either.

Naseeb Ke Paren… can function as a strong interactive tool for a facilitator working with small and large groups. The facilitator can choose to use the cards available in the kit or develop her own way of facilitating the tool with the groups.

The media matters team will be glad to orient your facilitators on some ways to use the interactive board game. The game is available for purchase at a rate of Rs. 1000/- The interactive board game comes with a set of cards, coins for playing and the board sized (4’ x 4’).
