Capacity Building
Learning Together
At media matters, we believe in a learning-centred approach to capacity building.

The effort is to create space and opportunities for groups to come together, share, dialogue and discover new. We strive for an environment that is enabling, content that is relevant, methodology that encourages participation and facilitation that respects the learner.

The capacity building initiative of media mattes is involved in exploring and experimenting with tools and methods that enable the facilitation of PC&A (Participatory Communication & Action) processes.

Over the years, our work with groups and communities have provided opportunities to work on a range of issues. We have designed, organized and facilitated need-based capacity building programmes on child rights, child participation, school in development, community-led advocacy strategy, adolescent life skills, youth in development, gender, women & community empowerment, reproductive rights, communication skills, counseling skills, facilitation skills, communication strategy and planning, and advocacy.

This year, we plan to re-introduce our six month, full time Paraprofessional Course on Development. Apart from our annual workshops on Theatre for Development as Cultural Action and Participatory Communication & Action, we look forward to introducing annual workshops on Facilitating Child Participation and Building an Advocacy Strategy.

Please refer our Learning Calendar for updates on forthcoming capacity building activities.
