Details of our work:
  • Geographical area: Urban, rural and tribal areas in various districts of Maharashtra and also other states of India
  • Groups worked with: Women, children, adolescent girls, youth, NGO workers, government staff from education, health, women & child development, water and sanitation at the state, district, block and village level
  • Issues worked on: Child rights, Gender, Life skills & Adolescent issues, Education, Juvenile Justice Act, Malnutrition, Reproductive Rights, Women's Right, HIV&AIDS, Convergent Community Action (CCA), Participation and Rights Based Approach
  • Programmes: Capacity building; Participatory Theatre; Video documentaries; Design & Development of Communication & Facilitation Resources; Participatory Research and Documentation
  • Funding partners: Government, Bilateral organisations, UN organisations, NGOs/Networks and Individuals


Processes so far / achievements:
  • Chhi! - A theatre-on-the-streets campaign about the struggle of a theatre group to evolve a socially relevant play
  • Sashakt - A four-year community process demonstrating SHG:CCA with urban slum community from Thane
  • Sakhi Sajni - A four-year process with adolescent girls demonstrating Participatory Communication & Action
  • nanhe sayane - A three-year process with children especially working children demonstrating participatory and advocacy processes on child rights
  • Para Professional Course – Organised & facilitated a four-month full-time paraprofessional course for youth on facilitating rights based, participatory, social development processes
  • Facilitation Resources - Design and development of media tools/material on various issues like - reproductive health and rights, child rights, adolescent girls issues & life skills to demonstrate and enable participatory processes with community groups
  • Capacity Building – Organised and facilitated workshops, trainings, ToTs for community groups, civil society organisations, government departments on Participatory Communication and Action, Theatre for Development as Cultural Action, School in Development, Gender and Development, Child Rights,Reproductive Health and Rights
  • Video Documentaries - On Solid Waste Management, Child Labour, Children in Domestic Work, Child Participation, Dreams and aspiration of Adolescent Girls
  • Research and Process Documentation - Of media messages, community processes with women, children and adolescent girls on Reproductive health, Education, Child Labour and Participation
